About petanque

Petanque is the French-style game of boules. You can play it on many surfaces, typically two doublets or triplets against each other. In principle, the point is to get as many own boules as possible close to the wooden round object called jack - closer than the closest boule of the opponent. It is an exciting game, full of strategy and self-disciplination.

In the Czech Republic, there are more several tens of petanque clubs, members of the Czech Association of Petanque Clubs (http://petanque.cstv.cz;). There are officially recognized tournaments, supervised by the association, at least one per weekend during the main season. The national championship is also annually organized as well as European and World championships.

I started playing peatanque since about 2004. I was member - and since 2009 to 2011 the president - of the Petanque club PK1293 Vojnův Městec (http://pk1293.vojnuvmestec.cz;). Since 2014 I am player of POP Praha petanque club.
