2010, PNL [PNL005]

I already heard this a couple of years ago, but since it was re-issued in 2010, I take it as an opportunity to list the record as one of big records of 2010. After all, it made me excited again. Solo drums and cymbals, marvelous. It was recorded during a live show in 2002, so no additional studio work. This Norwegian drummer, who left, some time ago, my favourite band The Scorch Trio, seems relentless - he lists, on his web site ten releases only for 2010.

2010, Doubtmusic [dms-137]

Samurai blues for the twenty-first century. Brutal, pure. Simple. Deviant. The guitar demon Keiji Haino, hidden behind his dark glasses, accompanied by the bassist Mitsuru Nasuno (playing also, among others, in another japan band that attracted my attention this year, Unbeltipo) and drummer Ichiraku Yoshimitsu.
