This is the web site of a special MA programme "Biographical sociology" (part of the sociology programme at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University Prague in 1996-2003). The programme was intended more broadly than its title may indicate: though biographical research represents an important focus, the programme covers contemporary qualitative research in general. Relevant theoretical frameworks are studied as well. In 2003 I ceased to be the head of this programme and due to a reform of the sociology programme at the faculty its future is uncertain.
